AlOjeiri: We are experiencing the "Sarayat" season, during which headaches and colds are common
Download ArticleThe AlOjeiri Scientific Center stated that we are currently in the Dhira’an season, which began today with the appearance of “Al-Muqaddam”, lasting 13 days.
In a press statement, the center explained that Al-Muqaddam begins on April 3 and consists of two bright stars. It is the third star phase of spring and is also known as the Second Hameem. During this period, temperatures begin to rise noticeably, and it marks a time for planting and harvesting crops like rice, wheat, and barley. It is also a time when headaches, colds, and dust become more common.
The center noted that during the Dhira’an season, temperatures increase while weather instability continues. This period is marked by the Sarayat—a key characteristic of the season—representing brief, sudden weather events. The sun’s angle is higher, resulting in warmer days, yet cool breezes are still felt at night, and spring migratory geese pass through during this time.
