The AlOjeiri Scientific Center announced that the beginning of the months of Rajab and Shaaban will occur during the upcoming January. It clarified that the beginning of the month of Rajab 1446 AH will astronomically fall the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, coinciding with New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025.

In a statement shared exclusively with Al-Rai, the center stated that the crescent of the month of Rajab will be observed tomorrow, noting that “based on precise astronomical calculations, the new crescent will remain in the sky over Kuwait for approximately 22 minutes and will range between 16 and 41 minutes in Arab and Islamic capitals.”

Regarding the crescent of Shaaban, the center explained that “its birth (without being visible) will occur at the end of January 2025, specifically on the 29th, and it will set with the sunset,” clarifying that “in most Arab and Islamic capitals, it will set before sunset.”

It further noted that “based on astronomical calculations, Thursday, January 30, 2025, will be the completion of the month of Rajab, and the beginning of the month of Shaaban will astronomically fall on Friday, January 31, 2025.”
