The AlOjeiri Scientific Center announced that the "Al-Marba'aniya" season will begin at the end of this week, specifically next Friday, December 6.

In a press statement, the center explained that Al-Marba'aniya follows the end of the "Al-Wasm" season on December 6 each year, noting that its start time is not fixed and is associated with shifts in weather temperatures from warmth to cold.

The center pointed out that the Al-Marba'aniya season lasts for 39 days, during which cold weather is felt. It consists of three stars, each lasting 13 days: Al-Iklil, Al-Qalb, and Al-Shawla, with the beginning of the season characterized by intense cold.

It further explained that nights become longer during Al-Marba'aniya, culminating on December 21 with the longest night, extending for 13 hours and 44 minutes.

On another note, the center revealed that during December, Kuwait's skies will witness several rare astronomical phenomena, starting with the appearance of Jupiter opposite the Sun on December 7. The planet will remain visible to the naked eye in the night sky throughout the night.

The center also noted that the Moon will align with Jupiter in mid-December, while the Geminid meteor shower will illuminate Kuwait’s skies from December 13 to 15.
