Al-Ojeiri Scientific Center: The star Canopus appears in the sky of Kuwait.

Al-Ojeiri Scientific Center stated today, Sunday, that the sky of Kuwait will witness the appearance of the star Suhail on the 4th of September, with the possibility of observing it at dawn towards the south.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the center added that Suhail is one of the important stars in the Arabian Peninsula. Its color is red, and it is ranked second in brightness after the star Sirius.

The center explained that Suhail can be seen in the sky in the early morning, just before sunrise, using binoculars or a small telescope from the southeast. It can also be seen clearly with the naked eye after three days in the same direction before sunrise.

The center noted that Suhail continues to rise, and during the months of December and January, it reaches its peak visibility around midnight in those months.

The center explained that the delayed appearance of Suhail in the sky of Kuwait is due to its geographical location in the north of the Arabian Peninsula, as the star first appears in the south and gradually rises until it reaches an appropriate position on Kuwait's horizon.

The center also indicated that with the appearance of this star, a new season begins, marked by shorter daylight hours, a decrease in the sun’s angle, and a drop in temperatures.
