The AlOjeiri Scientific Center stated today, Saturday, that the current summer season will reach its midpoint next Tuesday, which coincides with July 16th, and will mark the beginning of the "Second Jawzaa" season, which lasts for 13 days.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the center explained that the "Second Jawzaa" season is the fourth stage of summer according to Arab tradition and the fifth in the calendar of the sun and moon phases. Its star is known as "Al-Han'a."

The statement clarified that during the "Second Jawzaa" season, daytime lasts for more than 13 hours and 50 minutes, while nighttime lasts for about 10 hours and 10 minutes. It noted that at the beginning of the "Al-Han'a" star’s rise, the sun will rise at 4:59 AM and set at 6:49 PM.

The statement added that during the "Second Jawzaa," the heat of the sun intensifies, and this period is known as the "Bahoora of Summer," which lasts for about eight nights. This period also sees the entrance of "Al-Barah" winds, which some people refer to as "Simoom" (hot desert winds). The statement also mentioned that the "Second Jawzaa" star is one of the brightest stars, part of the constellation Betelgeuse, a star known to the ancient Arabs that can be seen with the naked eye.
