Download ArticleKuwait - May 2nd - 5th (KUNA) -- The Al-Ajiri Scientific Center announced today, Thursday, that a series of astronomical phenomena will adorn the sky of Kuwait during the first week of May.
The center added in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the first of these phenomena will begin on the morning of May 4th with the conjunction of the Moon and the planet Saturn, which can be seen with the naked eye from dawn until the scene disappears with the sunrise.
The statement pointed out that the Moon will be in conjunction with the planet Mars the following day before sunrise and will disappear with the brightness of the morning twilight.
It mentioned that astronomy enthusiasts can observe the Eta Aquariids meteor shower on May 5th and 6th, with an average of about 30 meteors per hour. The best time to observe these meteors will be after midnight from a completely dark location away from city lights.
It also stated that the Moon will be in conjunction with the planet Mercury on May 6th at dawn, and the phenomenon can be observed with the naked eye until sunrise.
